Meet Steve Tenud: Credentials and CPR Training Philosophy

2 min read

When Steve Tenud walks into your living room or your break room to teach a CPR class, he brings decades of healthcare experience with him. He spent his career as a Certified Nurse Aide, an Emergency Medical Technician, a Patient Care Technician, and a Back Office Medical Assistant, working hospital floors, dialysis units, and emergency settings.

He knows what it looks like when someone needs CPR. He also knows what it looks like when the person standing closest does not know what to do. To the Heart Mobile CPR Training exists to close that gap.

His instructor credentials

  • American Heart Association (AHA) certified Basic Life Support instructor

  • Health and Safety Institute (HSI) certified CPR instructor

  • AHCCCS authorized Direct Care Worker trainer

  • Certified Nurse Aide and Licensed Nurse Aide background

  • Emergency Medical Technician training

  • Patient Care Technician experience in hospital and dialysis care

  • Back Office Medical Assistant experience

The certifications he issues come from the American Heart Association and the Health and Safety Institute, and the training meets the requirements of Arizona DHS, AHCCCS, and OSHA where they apply. Certification cards are valid for two years, and renewals are always welcome.

Teaching as a retirement passion

Steve is retired. This work is what he chose to do with it. He trains because he wants to, and because he believes anyone who wants to learn lifesaving skills should be able to. That belief is also why his prices sit below the market: cost should not be the reason a family or a small team goes uncertified.

How he teaches

Classes are hands-on and interactive. Steve teaches with Preston CPR manikins with real-time feedback devices, so you know immediately whether your compressions are deep enough and fast enough. Students practice, ask questions, and practice again until the motions hold under pressure.

That approach comes from a simple idea he often shares: Tell me, and I forget. Teach me, and I learn. Involve me, and I remember. His goal is that you walk out of the session with the confidence to act, not just a card.

Book him directly

Steve schedules every class himself, around his own travel across the valley. Call or text 602-284-6928, or send a request through the booking page and he will get back to you personally.
